That is a pretty common tactic. If you place your bid as close to the snipe protection as possible without triggering it, you can still snipe a design. Happens to me a lot, really no way to counter it except vigilance.

It seems they put their bid right before the last 10 minute started, so the sniping protection didn't activate. What is a bit odd is that they didn't respond to my message yet, even though they were online to place the bid right before the end of the auction.
