Why did the auction close early?

The auction closed early, I did not expect any more bids since 3 days had passed and there were no more movements. But soon there will be several more adopters of this type

I can understand that, but why not just... Keep it open until the very end?? Some folks may want to slip in at near the last second and put in their higher bids. That's what you put sniping protection for, is it not?
