I think you can set the minimum allowable increase in the auction settings, for next time

then the bet will be automatic, and the person will not be able to bet more than they want. Such problems only happen with discount auctions, people probably think that the discount also applies to the minimum bid, which is not true.

I think the person just meant the minimum bid increase option for the auction. That option makes it to where a bidder has to increase their bid by that set amount. The bidder can still bid what they want, they will just have to be within that minimum bid increase. In the cast of this auction, they would have to increase the bid by 5 from whatever the current highest is. They can still bid whatever they want as long as it is within that minimum increase amount.
