are people just high bidding to mess with us then not talking?

I feel like that's mainly the case in a lot of YCHs/Adopts these days..

ive bid on her a few times only to be outbid by bot number 7824356 and so forth

I bidded on her as well, but something came up hence I asked Nay nicely if she could remove my bid for the time being. I think the last person who bidded her after me was either a bot or just didn't reply after 24h. This wasn't the only time I've seen this happen, but it gets annoying every time it does..
