Initially I just wanted to draw Link alone - sitting in a warm, cozy Christmas half-light. To show that celebrating by yourself can be genuinely enjoyable if the mood is right. I still believe that. But ironically near the end I added a friend for Link... Don't even know why... And now I want to show a bit different idea: being with yourself can be nice and comforting - but if you have truly close people, don't forget about them. They make any holdiay and any pixel art a hundred times better.
